Cosmos is a RTS and a MMORTS Game. It is about a universe which is full of races of all kinds. If it says "a universe" it also means "a universe" , in clear text, the game playes on all levels, underwater, on ground, and in the space. You can build everywhere. (Though, it doesn't make sence to build somewhere a base without ressources).

Each race differs from the other. There are races that live under water, races that got six legs like spiders, races like us humans and others. Each race has its own technology emphases. The water race may got all its mashinery based on water and high pressure, the humans may got nano technology as basement and the spider races may build all based on nets. This is only a short walkthrough of the possiblitys that are waiting for you.

The people are your power. They do everything. They build, repair, research and fight for you. Once you reached a certain technology level, you can abandon them, but this will have disadvantages and advantages (there is stuff that is just done better by organic lifeforms). The freedom mentioned above regards the units of the player. They are assembeld out of technologies that you developed.

You can combine your researched stuff in any way you want. Technologys are goods, which means you can trade technologies for ressources. They are an crucuial part of the game, you can steal them from other players, you can extract them (sometimes) from destroyed enemy ships or you just develop them and sell them.

Different races start from different beginnings in the technology tree of Cosmos, in the end, everyone can develop every technology if they got the base-technology.
